General FAQs
What is Powered Paragliding (PPG)?
PPG is a form of ultralight aviation where the pilot wears a back-pack motor or rides a trike which provides enough thrust to take off using a paraglider.
Do I need a certification or license to fly?
PPG is minimally regulated and does not require a certification, unless you are flying tandem (with a passenger).
The FAA regards Paramotors as Ultralight Aircraft which are governed by FAR PART 103.
What restrictions are there?
Weather
The legal limit under FAR PART 103 is 18,000 feet.
Only fly in uncontrolled airpsace (Class G) unless prior authorization is given by Air Traffic Control (ATC)
No flying over congested areas
Only fly during twilight periods, 30 minutes before official sunrise and 30 minutes after official sunset (with a strobe light)

Dona Ana International Jetport at Santa Teresa located at 8014 Airport Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
The meet up location is just outside the gate of The War Eagle Air Museum.
